Keys to be an overcomer
Introduction
We are all part of the kingdom of God when we accept Jesus as our personal Savior. Once we become a part of the kingdom of God, How do we move on from there? There are keys how you can be an overcomer from the word of God.
Romans 8:37 Verse, It says, we are more than conquerors through him that he loves us. The word conquerors means in Greek, hypernikao, which means to gain victory or to be more than conqueror. The Bible tells us we should be more than conqueror.
In John 16:33 says, you have troubles in this world take heart, I have overcome this world. Since God has overcome this world, we need to be relaxing because when you depend on him, he will help us to overcome everything.
You must have confidence that God will bring victory
when you’re in the kingdom of God, we must understand that only God can give us victory. You see in 1 Samuel 17:9, there was a fight between Goliath and David, Goliath was tormenting the people of Israelites. And here comes David who told he turns to Goliath. He spoke the words of confidence. He spoke the words of victory and he spoke the words of words that God is going to give you Goliath into my hands.
How could he speak in front of Goliath like this? Because he had confidence that God will bring victory. Even in our lives, when we have confidence that God will bring victory, we will speak the words of faith. We should speak the words of faith. That is what it is all about, that you will have confidence that God will bring victory. That is the first key.
Knowing that no weapon fashioned and instituted against us will ever prosper
Luke 10:19. God has given authority over every snakes and scorpions.There was a war and there was a king called Aram who lived in Syria. He wanted to defeat the Israelites. So he sent a huge army. So here is a king who wants to defeat the Israelites. Now, when he sends against Israelites, you see 2nd Kings 6 : 8 – 23. You see the 11th verse and the 12th verse.
Elisha, a prophet, was there who reveals the plans in the bedroom. And here is Elisha who could reveal the secrets of the king of Aram. And the king of Aram tells, how do I defeat them? Because how is my plans being executed through them? Then they said that there is a king who knows all secrets. Nothing can harm us when We know Christ is there with us.
Renewing your mind will prevent by doing Good to overcome evil
Renewing your mind will prevent you from being overcome by evil. Romans 12:2 says, Renew your mind according to the word of God. And when you renew your mind according to the word of God, the word of God will teach you what is perfect will of God. And when you know what is the perfect will of God, you can overcome evil by doing good. That’s a new covenant lifestyle that God is asking from us. We should be an overcomer. Overcome by renewing your mind.
Your inward Resource becomes your outward strength
Your inward resource is the Holy Spirit. 1 John 4: 4 says that the one who is in you is greater than the world. That means when the Holy Spirit is inside you, the Holy Spirit is one the person in the Trinity and He is the most powerful person in the world. And He created the whole world and He is within you. That means the one who created the whole world is in you.
That when you see the surrounding circumstances, don’t be afraid of that because one who is in you is greater than the world. Romans 8 : 26, it says that the Spirit of God helps you in your weaknesses. Grace is made perfect in your weaknesses. Sometimes in your life, when you’re weak and you’re not able to do anything, but still you go into the presence of God and ask the Lord, what should I do? God gives you grace. The Spirit of God helps you. The message of the new covenant is hope, not fear. So he makes you overcome. He makes you, the Spirit of God makes you overcome. He gives you spirit, the Spirit of God gives you a spirit of boldness and courage, not a spirit of fear.
Christ makes you more than conquerors and gives you victory
Christ makes you more than conquerors and gives you victory. The Bible says the law is the power of sin, and death is a manifestation of sin. And now death is being destroyed, so death has no power over us. 1 John 5 : 4, it says ‘You are an overcomer’. In Revelation 3:5, it says since we are victorious through Jesus, our sins have been washed away, blotted out. Listen to me carefully.
The law is the power of sin. That means sin is more victorious when there is law. But the law is being taken away now, and Christ has fulfilled the law. So now Christ became our law, because Christ became our law, He has destroyed death, He has destroyed all the powers of darkness, so that He brings us victory, that He conquered death. then because he conquered that same death, we can conquer through him. Christ brings us victory in every area of your life. That’s what it means. God bless.
